Club rides and meets in the UK

This programme of events, mostly organised by members for members, provides an opportunity for members to take part in a variety of events in the UK. If you can arrange an event of any kind, please contact the relevant co-ordinator well in advance. Meets require long lead times and should be planned, and booked, well ahead.

Booking: If applicable, complete and return the booking form provided for the event. For some events, a non-returnable deposit or full payment may be required to book a place. Please also supply an SAE, unless the Meet Organiser is willing to communicate by email.


The AAC(UK) recognises that climbing, hill and country walking, mountain biking, mountaineering and snow sports are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks, being responsible for their own actions, involvement and safety.
The Club, its officers, Board and Alpine Team members and persons acting on behalf of the Club cannot be held liable for any loss or injury occurring to any participant while taking part in its activities.

Mountain Biking Events 2021

Due to the ongoing impact of coronavirus, activities and events listed below may be subject to postponement or cancellation.

March 27: North Downs, Surrey

Meet 10.30 at Dorking station (TQ171503). Circular ride from Dorking station taking in the North Downs Way and trails near Leith Hill. Ca 25km, including 20+ km off-road trails. Approx 4 hours plus lunch & breaks. Group size to conform with Covid restrictions prevailing at the time. Pre-booking required.


April 24: South Downs, Sussex

Meet 10.30 at Hassocks station in front of Hassocks pub (TQ304155). Circular ride from Hassocks station taking in the South Downs Way and trails in Stanmer Woods. Ca 25km, including 20+km off-road trails. Approx 4 hours plus lunch & breaks. Group size to conform with Covid restrictions prevailing at the time. Pre-booking required.

AAC(UK) Mountain Bike Leadership Courses

The AAC(UK) now has a number of level 2 MTB leaders around the UK organising rides and meets for members. If you feel you have the skills to complete British Cycling’s Leader Level 2 training ( a grant may be available. .  The aim is to develop a network of qualified MTB Leaders around the country with leaders organising events in their areas. As the group develops, meets and tours overseas will be organised.
