Note 1 - Accuracy of your data

Please take care to enter your data accurately.

If for example you enter your name incorrectly (so that it fails to match your passport), or you enter a date of birth incorrectly (so that you obtain the wrong membership category), this could invalidate your membership and associated benefits.

Note 9 - Protecting your personal data

Personal data supplied by members is held in computer systems by AAC(UK).

The Club does NOT store sensitive card details (eg card numbers, security codes).

Note 14 - Security and your payment

When you have completed this form and pressed the "Proceed to payment" button at Step 8, you will be connected to a secure payment facility. Communication between you and this facility is encrypted, to protect your card details etc.

The facility operates to strict security standards devised by the card payment industry. It incorporates a number of anti-fraud measures, which help to protect you if your card has fallen into the wrong hands.

Note 20 - Payments from outside the UK

AAC(UK) has many members that successfully join or renew from outside the UK.

However, if you are making a card payment from outside the UK (and you do not often do this) we suggest that you contact your card issuer (eg bank), in advance, to notify them that you are about to make an international payment off the card. Otherwise your payment might be interpreted as potentially fraudulent and therefore could be refused by your bank.

Payment will be made in GBP, ie Pounds Sterling.

Note 21 - Accepted payment cards

You can pay using any of the following payment card types:

-- Master Card (Credit)
-- Debit Master Card
-- Visa (Credit)
-- Visa Debit
-- Delta
-- Maestro

Sorry, we cannot handle any other types of payment card.

AAC(UK) does NOT charge a fee for card payments.

Note 22 - If your household has made a previous membership application this year

If your household already contains members for the current membership year, and you want to add more members, then that's fine.

However this form cannot handle:

-- the addition of Category B (Spouse/Partner) members
-- the addition of children to an existing family
-- the addition of children so as to create a family

Sorry, these cases are too complicated for this application form.

Instead, please contact the AAC (UK) Office - see the "Contact Us" page on the AAC(UK)'s main website.

Note 26 - For renewal, why the need to re-enter my personal data?

For historical reasons the membership database is stored on a PC in the AAC(UK) office, where the membership applications are processed and membership cards sent out by post. Meanwhile this web form is on the web server where there is NO membership database.

2021 Membership Application Form

Due to Office staff working remotely, there may be a delay in sending you your membership cards.  The  card(s) etc will be posted to you within 5 working days of your membership application being processed remotely by the Office.

It is recommended that you apply for membership in good time before any intended trip. However if this is not possible please enter your departure date at Step 6, and maybe add more detail in the "Comments" box (also at Step 6). You may also wish to telephone the AAC(UK) Office to make your intentions clear. We will endeavour to meet your wishes, but in times of high demand or force majeure this cannot always be guaranteed.

It is also recommended that, before completing this form, you download, read and retain copies of the AWS insurance document (valid to 31/12/2022), the AAC(UK) Articles of Association, and the AAC(UK) Bye-Laws. In particular you should consider now whether the policy as described in the AWS insurance document is suitable for all persons within your household who wish to apply for membership. Once the membership card(s) has/have been issued, no refund of the membership fee is possible.

Note that you must be in possession of and sign your membership card before you travel in order to be sure of securing all benefits of membership. By signing your ÖAV membership card you agree to abide by the Articles of Association and Bye-Laws of AAC(UK). Other important information will be provided on your membership card.

You can join (or renew) up to 20 persons via this application form - but they must all share the same postal address. At a later step you will be asked to choose a "Lead Person" - in most cases this would be the person completing this form. Normally it would also be the person named on the credit or debit card. You will need to supply an email address for the Lead Person.

At each Step please expand and read the Notes (to the left of the application form).
