Note 14 - Security and your payment
When you have completed this form and pressed the "Proceed to payment" button at Step 8, you will be connected to a secure payment facility. Communication between you and this facility is encrypted, to protect your card details etc.
The facility operates to strict security standards devised by the card payment industry. It incorporates a number of anti-fraud measures, which help to protect you if your card has fallen into the wrong hands.
Note 20 - Payments from outside the UK
AAC(UK) has many members that successfully join or renew from outside the UK.
However, if you are making a card payment from outside the UK (and you do not often do this) we suggest that you contact your card issuer (eg bank), in advance, to notify them that you are about to make an international payment off the card. Otherwise your payment might be interpreted as potentially fraudulent and therefore could be refused by your bank.
Payment will be made in GBP, ie Pounds Sterling.

Note 22 - If your household has made a previous membership application this year
If your household already contains members for the current membership year, and you want to add more members, then that's fine.
However this form cannot handle:
-- the addition of Category B (Spouse/Partner) members
-- the addition of children to an existing family
-- the addition of children so as to create a family
Sorry, these cases are too complicated for this application form.
Instead, please contact the AAC (UK) Office - see the "Contact Us" page on the AAC(UK)'s main website.

Note 26 - For renewal, why the need to re-enter my personal data?
For historical reasons the membership database is stored on a PC in the AAC(UK) office, where the membership applications are processed and membership cards sent out by post. Meanwhile this web form is on the web server where there is NO membership database.
