August 21 – 30: Glockner Runde High Alpine Tour, Austria
There are still a couple of places left on this tour. 10 people are signed up, but there is still space for 2 more.
This is one of the classic high Alpine tours. GrossGlockner in the Granat Gruppe is the highest mountain in Austria. The tour circles the Glockner massif offering magnificent views of the main and surrounding peaks.
Meet in Zell-am-See for an early start, travelling to Kaprun and then taking the mountain bus and cableway to reach Mooseboden to start the trek. The route is strenuous with long, steep ascents and descents, possibly steep snow patches and the weather could well be a challenge. Previous experience of Alpine walking is needed. Allow 50 Euros per night for hut accommodation and meals with a little extra for hotel nights i.e.500 Euros, plus your travel.
Peter Hinds will lead the tour and will be assisted by Frances Hinds; both are approved AAC-UK alpine tour leaders. Contact the office to be put in touch with the Hinds! ... See MoreSee Less
